Basement Replacement Windows

Frequenty Asked Questions

Do you need to reframe the window?

No, egress windows are designed to completely pop in and out of the frame as a safety feature.  Most times, the window can just be swapped out without making any changes to the existing frame.

How long does it take?

We can often install a new premium replacement window for you in about 30 minutes

What if they don’t fit?

These windows will fit standard pour in place metal buck frames common in most below grade basements. In the event the window does not fit, we will just bring it back with us at no charge. Or, we can custom order the perfect size window. This usually doesn’t cost any more and only takes about 2 weeks to make.

Do I need to be home?

Yes, an adult needs to be home to let our installer into the basement.

What is the warranty?

The windows come with the manufacturer’s warranty which states they are to be free from defects in workmanship and material for a period of 10 years from installation.

What if the metal buck frames are rusted?

The metal buck frame that lines the opening where the windows are installed is a part of the foundation. We do not remove or replace the buck frame as a part of our window installation. If the metal buck frame is rusted, we suggest to have a painter or handyman (or tackle the project yourself) restore the buck frame before we install our new window. We are more than happy to provide referrals or product information used to treat the buck frames.
